Chie Mihara‘s “Atame” shoe. It’s an eye catcher for sure. It’s a perfect bootie that screams femininity. Oxford platform shoe with a 3.25″ leather covered heel, a 1″ platform and inside zip but the appeal of this shoe is in the adornment. Grosgrain ribbons cascade down the front of the shoe, topped with a perfectly balanced bow. They are spectacular. Dare to stare? I sure can’t stop staring at these.

Back in 2010, the trend in women’s shoes was all about the platform. That trend has become a fashion mainstay since platforms are a woman’s bff, enabling effortless comfort. I think one of the most comfortable platforms from 2010 is the “Daquelo” from Chie Mihara. It’s a simple styled design – a Mary Jane heel with an open toe and sling-back strap, yet it’s beautifully crafted. Rich mushroom colored suede leather graces the upper, while the strap, platform and heel are wrapped in solid leather, giving a subtle tone-on-tone mix.  The 1.5″ platform makes the 4.5″ heel a humble 3″ high, so they are easy to walk in, you’ll swear you’re wearing flats! Extremely versatile in hue and style – they go with everything from jeans, to maxi-dresses or formal attire. If you’ve ever owned a pair of Chie Mihara’s, you’d agree, these are a steadfast addition to the shoe closet.

Not one to follow any trends, Chie Mihara mixes classic and contemporary styles, designing shoes with comfort and quality in mind. Her 2013 Spring-Summer collection was based on freshness and renewal with geometrical lines inspired by the 60’s. I think this is one her best collections. The “Cocco” white sandal is uniquely crafted, flaunting a striking skeletal texture, contrasted with smooth black leather trim…adding enough graphic interest while still emphasizing the D’orsay styled lines.  A 4.75″ chunky heel has a well padded insole and hidden platform. Chie Mihara shoes are trendless and timeless and a bit of an investment…but seriously, aren’t your feet worth it?
