Loafer du jour

It’s all about the platform heeled loafer.

Rag &Bone has made an instant upgrade to the traditional penny loafer with a square toe and a bit of flair with a flared heel.

You will definitely stop traffic in these shoes.

Shoe du jour

Local shoe stores can be a gem. At Lori’s, the sole of Chicago, you’ll find some unique offerings. Their private line, L’idea, is just that…a gem. Simply called “Leather Heeled Loafer”, this patent leather, squared toe loafer has a chunky flared 3″ wrapped heel and a brushed gold horse-bit inspired adornment. A shoe you could wear on a daily basis from 9 to 5 and beyond.

Shoe du jour – a signature classic

Christian Louboutin “Miss Sab” Patent Pump is that perfect shoe for your closet. Shiny patent leather, rounded toe, 3″ heel, red sole –it’s the curve of the 3″ heel that sets this shoe apart from the others. Sleek and sexy, go from work to dinner in signature style.

Shoe du jour – classic

Every once in a while a classic shoe comes along that you want and absolutely need. The Prada logo platform mule is that perfect shoe. Penny loafer style, chunky heel and goes with everything. My new favorite.

Shoe du jour – Loafer bling

Do you need to add a little bling to your look? Stuart Weitzman has the perfect solution. The Parker Lift Mini Pearl Loafer. A lug sole, patent leather loafer – kicked up a notch with pearls. Not over the top but will definitely turn heads as you strut your stuff.

New Year, New Shoes

Two years into the pandemic and its time to focus on practical shoes. Practical can be stylish with  fun twist on your not so typical penny loafer. These “Bruno Premi” sporty loafers will elevate your style with its contrasting lug sole. A welcome update for a wardrobe classic.

Pandemic Shoe du jour

Confession – I know we are in a pandemic, but I broke down and bought a pair of sensible shoes – aka flats. (on-line and on sale!) I typically don’t wear flat shoes. But these are ridiculously comfortable, stylish and could possibly be the perfect mule!

The Elyce mule by Frances Valentine. In case you aren’t familiar with Frances Valentine, check out their website. The founder launched the brand back in 2016 with Kate and Andy Spade and its’ styles are timeless. I especially love the coats and handbags.

The mule has a stacked square heel – frankly this really makes the shoe go from ho-hum to haute. Added bonus, there is arch support! And the robin-egg blue insole puts this on a new level of style.

The Tiffany’s of shoes – a true classic.

Home Isolation Shoe du jour

Ho-hum, every day in home isolation seems the same, so I decided to brighten my day with a new pair of shoes! My home isolation belated birthday gift just arrived in the mail.

From Boden.com, the “Mollie kitten heel”.

Graphic and impactful, these clean white cotton kicks sport bold, black polka-dots and a bright yellow-orange (Tuscan sun) grosgrain bow ribbon. Of course there is also the adorable, 1-3/4″ kitten heel. The sides are cut out and even the interior lining is trimmed in yellow-orange and printed with polka-dots.

Classy, Sassy and Badass!

Home isolation shoe du jour

With COVID-19, the entire city on lock-down and work from home a mandate, my home isolation shoe du jour has become Time slippers. They are super comfortable – because they have yoga mat insoles along with wool lining – so feet are comfy and cozy. This low top leather style has flexible outsoles that really flex with every step and a collapsible heel for easy transformation into a mule. And with stretchable laces – there’s no need to even tie my shoes! They thought of everything!

Best of all, they are donating a percentage of all sales to Covid relief. So you can treat your feet and help those in need while you  stay inside!

Shoe du jour – snow boots!

February always seems to bring snowstorms…a great excuse to buy new snow boots! Marc Fisher Ltd. makes these “Idella” Shearling hiking boots. They run a tad bit large, but nothing thicker socks can’t solve. Leather hiking boots with a lug sole give good traction in snow and on city streets. The shearling trim makes these on trend and dresses up even the most distressed denim.
