Just add a little fringe. Prada, patent leather, kilt-block heel sandals. Clean, classy and simple. So don’t let a 3.75″ heel intimidate you – these are very wearable, very walk-able and feel more like a 2″ heel. This sandal has it all … fringe, patent, peep toe, ankle strap, block heel, loads of style … love.

Dorateymur “Munise” color-block mules, by the eponymous designer, Dora Teymur. This sculptural and contemporary color blocked open back pump is my first pair from this brand and they are quickly becoming a favorite. A 3.5″ high block heel, patent black and white leather with a surprise red inner sole. What’s not to love?! Comfy, stylish and oh so mod, I’m can’t wait to see what other styles this brand has to offer.

Blue du jour!

No Monday blues with these loafers! These shoes just make me smile. Metallic turquoise/teal with hot reflective spots and scuff to give it some street cred. Grabbed these beauties at Sfizi in Chicago – the brick and mortar of Delicious Shoe truck. Shoes have a nice chunky 2.5″ heel. Oh so comfy and stylish too. By Popshoes, Italy. Chic, must haves.

I love when Rag and Bone has a sale. This boot runs about a half-size small. There’s no zipper, just slip them on and go. I kove the round toe and clean lines of the “Agnes” boot. Italian black leather with a 3.5″ wooden heel. Simple. If it isn’t in your closet, it should be. A true wardrobe staple that’s comfortable and fashionable…and on sale!!!!

Sexy and sophisticated, the “Abbot Kinney” boot by Kate Ferguson, is playful with interesting texture combinations. Black ruched leather upper with spotted pony hair on the toe and heel. Leave an impression whether you are coming or going in these boots. The 3.5″ heel may look high but these boots have a soft cushion padding along the inner arch making them very walk-able and very comfortable. Break away from ordinary and get spotted in these boots.

Shoe du jour – New Year’s Eve

Another year in the books. I think everyone would agree, 2016 has been a year of some pretty major losses. But one historical “W” stands out and that is for my local Cubbies, winning the World Series. A celebratory pair fitting to end the year on a high note. Kick back, relax, drink some bubbly and bring on 2017!

Oh Prada, how I love thee. I knew when I first set eyes on the “kiltie fringe pump”  that I would have to add it to my shoe closet. And thanks to an early Black Friday sale, I didn’t hesitate and scored them at 40% off – just one click into my basket and a day later they were at my doorstep.  Although I had to go up half a size, they really are the perfect retro loafer. The flared, block heel may be 3.25″ but it feels much lower and is comfortable to stride in. The squared toe, accented with a silver buckle, balances off the chunky heel and looks classic with dresses and pants. It’s a not-so-basic, timelessly covetable shoe, versatile enough to wear day or night.

Philanthropy – “the love of humanity, in the sense of caring, nourishing, developing, and enhancing what it means to be human.”  Or according to Webster’s: “the practice of giving money and time to help make life better for other people.”  The “Gigi Boot” — a design collaboration between Gigi and Stuart Weitzman. I ordered these just to see them in person as they weren’t available in nearby stores. The black, croc-embossed leather boot with the pointed toe is incredibly comfortable, and how can you not love the two-toned laces! Dress them up or dress them down, this boot is perfect, albeit pricey. But it’s for a good cause…this style is a commitment to build three additional schools with Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to making quality education accessible to kids everywhere. These boots have my vote! Who knew buying shoes could help humanity.

Fierce!  I became obsessed over these Gucci “Peyton” Texas embroidered heart,  black leather loafers. I’m not sure if I was obsessed over the shoe or the challenge to find the sold-out shoe. But I prevailed and when they finally arrived, I knew they were keepers. A red leather, heart is emblazoned across the front of the shoe along with gold leather trim and metallic stars. The classic two-toned stripe webbing is adorned with the antique gold-toned GG. The side of the shoe also has a little red leather heart. Seriously, what is not to love about these shoes! They are ridiculous! There is a standard 1.5″ loafer heel, but Gucci has started a unique convertible trend … is it a loafer or a slide? That’s right, the back folds in for a quick change of style. You get 2 pairs of shoes for the price of one … or so I’ve justified my love.
