Marc by Marc Jacobs retro-style slide with wide black patent leather crisscross straps and gold-tone buttons. Classy, sassy and flashy without being trashy. It’s the surprise mirrored gold and black stripes accenting the 3 3/4″ stacked heel that puts it over the top. Simply stunning.

Throw caution to the wind. Make an ordinary outfit extraordinary with a bright colored shoe. Jessica Bennett’s “Forli” pump is all about contrast and has been part of my shoe closet since 2008. A vintage-inspired, yet classic rounded toe pump with a demure, gold pilgrim-esque buckle. Bold teal patent leather trim plays off of the bright yellow crinkled patent leather upper. A stacked wooden 3.5″ heel adds an earthy element, contrasting beautifully with the patent leather. Innocent yet daring. A super comfortable, super cute, fun and fearless pump that’s sure to stand out in a crowd.

Sneaker heels are a popular trend. Combine a kitten heel with a canvas sneaker and although it might sound like an oxymoron, somehow it works! Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. They are cute, sporty and comfortable. These smog colored (a grey-ish lavender hue), frayed canvas stiletto heeled sneakers by Ash have a laced-up layered closure with side grommets and dirtied rubber cap tip. And although you can’t wear these on the court, they score you points with a dressed-up, casual look. Sometimes opposites attract.

Gwen Steffani rocked these on the January ’13 cover of Vogue. Modern structure, oblong heel paneled booties by Alexander Wang. The “MacKenzie” makes a futuristic, infinitely bold statement. Gladiator-styled bootie with a tiny peep hole toe, elastic cording and sharp leather cut out bands that resemble bandages. Bold and strong, this sleek shoe is one that women will definitely brawl over, now that its on sale. Holla! No bloodshed here – alas, victory is mine and now I’m rockin’ them!

Shoes with an attitude. This Brazilian made, French inspired trendy shoe by Pour la Victoire, has a 4.5″ heel and a 1.5″ hidden platform. The “Murphy’s” high-gloss patent leather is stunning and sleek, while the funky-chunky black wood heel gives it more of a wedge effect, so you can strut in comfort and style.

Marc Jacobs triple-buckle 4″ chunky high heel from fall/winter 2012 was the last pair available company wide when I purchased them. This is no ordinary shoe – it’s quirky and fabulous with a mod vibe! The black outline trim extending from sole to heel is flirty and sets this shoe apart from others. The broad tongue, square toe and triple pewter buckles might resonate “Plymouth Rock” pilgrim shoe variety to some, but in the bone white color, they are an all-season, street-style chic, modern day staple. Give thanks to our fashion-forward footwear forefathers.

I’m making the sidewalk my runway in the “Pratt”. A two-toned leather, laced up heel by Rachel Comey. At first glance, it might look like a granny shoe, but looks can be deceiving. The chunky 4″ heel, peep toe and contrasting sling back lends the vintage-inspired look a new clever, quirky, city-cool vibe.
