Wanted to end 2013 and ring in the new year with a little sparkle…from Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The “Rialto Fishnet Sequined Pump” is a grey silk pump with a rounded almond shaped toe, a 3.5″ chunky heel and adorned with sequins. The fishnet pattern is hand embroidered with the tiniest black and white sequins throughout. Having lost 13 vacation days for a work assignment this month easily justified this purchase. The fact that they were also 70% off was an added incentive – thank you Andrew from Marc Jacobs, you definitely know my style! Since it’s snowing, these stylish pumps won’t be seeing the snow covered sidewalks. Instead it’s time to celebrate New Year’s Eve by staying in, ordering a pizza, popping the bubbly and enjoying the evening with my nearest and dearest, reflecting on a year gone by and looking forward to 2014…and of course, admiring the beauty of these pumps! Whatever you do to celebrate, be safe, have fun and do it in stylish shoes!

Just when I thought I had enough boots, I stumbled across a street-cool bootie. Check out the mod moto boot from Marc Jacobs. The high quality leather is buttery soft.  The round 2″ heel is elegant, modern and perfectly proportioned. The double zippers – a stylish and functional feature, allow you to easily slip into the bootie. Topped off with an ankle strap with snap closure. Fabulous boot – comfortable, sleek and upscale. Best part of all….got them on sale!

In Fall 2012, Marc Jacobs made a grey ankle boot. But this isn’t your typical ankle boot, this one definitely stands out in a crowd. A dark grey textured leather upper with a leather capped smooth toe. An angled side zip closure and pul tab heel. The profile is beautifully stated with a stacked 1.75″ heel, but the stand out feature is the rhinestone buckle. Bring the ankle bling! C’mon, what girl doesn’t want to sparkle just a little.

Now there are pointy shoes and then there are ridiculously pointy shoes. And although I’d have to say these fall into the category of ridiculously pointy, they are really wickedly smart. From Spring/Summer 2013, an elegant, pointed toe ankle boot by Marc Jacobs simply called the “Pony Chelsea boot”.  And it’s just that, a low-top black pony Chelsea boot. Well disguised, there are wide black elastic gussets at the sides along with a pull tab in back, so they are a cinch to put on or take off. But what makes this boot special is 2.25″ cylindrical heel. The roundness of the heel compliments the severely pointed toe. The pony hair puts it over the top.

Marc Jacobs triple-buckle 4″ chunky high heel from fall/winter 2012 was the last pair available company wide when I purchased them. This is no ordinary shoe – it’s quirky and fabulous with a mod vibe! The black outline trim extending from sole to heel is flirty and sets this shoe apart from others. The broad tongue, square toe and triple pewter buckles might resonate “Plymouth Rock” pilgrim shoe variety to some, but in the bone white color, they are an all-season, street-style chic, modern day staple. Give thanks to our fashion-forward footwear forefathers.

After a long winter, the calendar says “open-toe-shoes,” but the weather in Chicago just doesn’t agree. So for a few more days, it’s still closed-toe season.

From the fall 2012 collection, the Marc Jacobs Rhinestone Buckle Pilgrim shoe.

Hailed as “eye-catching” and “quirky” or panned as “awful,” this is a shoe you either love or hate, but it definitely delivers the BLING to any outfit.  Think Alice in Wonderland meets Cinderella, a combination of sass and fairytale class. It’s artwork for your feet!

From runway to reality, this shoe is truly one of a kind. It definitely adds the “wow” to your shoe wardrobe.

It’s my first Marc Jacobs shoe, but I’m sure it won’t be the last! If you need some bling with a little less flair, check out the Dandy by Kate Spade.
