Shoe du jour

Shoe designer Finsk by Julia Lundsten is better known for creating architecturally designed shoes that are complex structures, provoking awe and not following trends. Marimekko is well known for their distinctly graphic, bold patterned, bright colored textiles and simple styles. The two designers collaborated in spring 2010 to create a modern footwear collection. The collection was never available in the states, so the challenge was to find a pair. After much persistent sourcing … behold, the SHOE. A pair from the runway show sat overseas in the Marimekko warehouse. This shoe is a true collector’s piece, a one-of-a-kind, unique composition of modern design brilliance. A stunning open toe sandal with 4″ brown leather wrapped heel and 3/4″ platform contrasts the bold, black and cream leather cuff, showcasing Marimekko’s eye-catching, vivid styling, finished with a simple back zipper.

This addition to my shoe closet is solely due to the relentless pursuit by my husband and John at Marimekko. Without you, there would be no SHOE.
