Corey Coach snapshotI love to make a graphic statement and nothing is more graphic than black and white color combination. “Corey” by Coach – an op art fashionable open toe pump. Signature C’s and graffiti writing make up the optical intrigue of the fabric. Peep toe with patent leather bow tie to show off that pedicure.  A sturdy 4″ heel and 1/2″ platform will keep you in comfort all day.  Classy, sexy, graphic and artsy. Perfect way to dress up your wardrobe and looks great with white jeans. Make your look distinct and stand out from the crowd.

Everyone seems to be over  winter and anxious for spring. Chicago got a sneak peak of warmer weather followed by winter storm Vulcan. As much as I long for a change in seasons, I had to wonder… what if it was my last day on earth. This snow storm was the last thing I’d see…could I find the beauty in it, while everyone else is rushing around in their more important than mine life? There was such a strikingly graphic show of art with the snow coating the trees. Such a stillness, a welcomed quiet. And most of all…it was beautiful. For a moment in time –  simple beauty.

That is why I decided to forgo the boots today and wear a pair of pumps that are of equal striking beauty as the fresh fallen snow – white for right now!

The “Hallie” by Coach is a strikingly beautiful statement pump. It has a slender stiletto heel and pointed toe – and the profile of this shoe is stunning. It’s crafted in a lizard-embossed leather, giving a graphic kick to these kicks. Finished off with a silver ladylike bow. It’s very similar to my Prada pointy toe bow pumps, but at a Coach friendlier price point.

Mother Nature please end this winter weather, I’m craving spring. This weekend is daylight savings time, so spring must be near, although the arctic temperatures and snow covering the ground seems to disagree. I’ve spent the month of February wearing snow boots so March calls for putting a little “spring” in my step. The “Jocelyn” loafer by Coach, is an update of the classic loafer, borrowed from the boys look. A natural, pale leather slip on design, sans laces, boasts a mirrored-metallic toe cap and 1″ mirrored heel. These shoes are cute, comfortable, stylish and scream spring!

A kittenish heel only better. Elegant, and eye-catching, the retro-inspired “Lawrence Haircalf” pump by Coach makes a statement coming and going. At first glance, you notice the print, in exotic calf hair and that the pointy toe is adorned with an ornamental pale-gold hardware plaque. The 1.75″ heel is a modern day twist to a kitten heel – more structural, geometric and strong, it’s even finished with a glimmer of gold at the inner heel. Normally, I am not a fan of flat shoes, but I was drawn to this low heel. To make sure, I even paraded around the store in the “Sydney” pump, a 3.5″ heeled version of the Lawrence pump. But at the end of the day, the exotic print won me over. And a kitten heel that totally roars!

A modern, elegant silhouette from Coach, fall 2012. The black “Cary” bootie has piping detail on the rich leather and large tassels decorating the front zipper … a signature detail that sets them apart. A brown stacked wooden 4.5″ heel and .75″ platform adds contrast and lift. The zipper does tend to gradually unzip throughout the day. It could be the placement of the zipper on the front vamp or the tassels could be a tad too large or heavy. A slight annoyance, yes. But that aside, these shoes are comfortable, polished and compliments abound.

Trendsetting and attention getting, this sleek pump will take you to new heights. Crafted in soft, solid black leather, this peep toe’s standout feature is the side cut outs and the large decorative pewter buckles. A 4″ stacked wooden stiletto heel with 1″ platform adds a bit of edginess and height – so you can standout from the rest of the crowd. It’s become my “go to” shoe for a head-to-toe polished look.

An über cute and highly fashionable gladiator sandal/cut out bootie. Part of my shoe closet since 2010, the Coach “Teagan”. That’s right, Coach. Sure they make handbags and leather accessories but they’ve actually been designing shoes for a while –  and they definitely raised the bar with these. The perfect shade of grey … shimmering brushed leather with chic signature C emblems on leather tassel ties.  Stacked wooden light grey 4 3/4″ heel and 1/2″ platform. Year after year, I get compliments on these and its no wonder, they are stunning.

Happy 4th of July!

From the archives, the Coach signature C logo open toe slide. Subtle contrast stitching against a blueish-black leather with a 2.5″ heel. Classic, simple and understated. Pairs perfectly with …  everything.
