Celebrities have been spotted wearing the brand and it seems everyone from east to west coast has at least one pair. Are they really that buzz worthy? Yes! The Rag & Bone “Harrow” booties are chic beyond words. These might be the most stylish and comfortable boots on the market. Design and fabrication simplicity make this utilitarian, rustic bootie a winner. It’s no wonder stores sell out and they rarely seem to go on sale – at least not in my size. But this year, I was one of lucky ones to get them at Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale! Special thanks to Kevin D! Soft, black supple sueded leather dresses the classic Rag & Bone silhouetted ankle boot with round cap toe. There’s little details, like a silver push pin button closure at the wraparound adjustable leather ankle strap, contrasting brown leather piping, paneled stitching and a notched split shaft. Stacked 3.5″ brown wood heel and real leather sole. People have commented that the shoes run one half to one full size too small. I did not find that the case. My normal size fit perfectly. The shoe blog might have to end because I may never take these off my feet!

A new look for the Fitflop brand. Same great sandal built with their patent-pending Microwobbleboard™ midsoles, but the “Kys” has patent leather criss cross straps. These are very comfortable and very stylish, however, there is a design flaw. The shoe designers must not have realized that when you have patent leather crossing over each strap, the point where the leathers rub together, causes friction making for one very noisy, squeaky shoe. Don’t let a little noise stop you from getting a fabulous Fitflop. There are two solutions I have discovered to end the noise so you can strut in peace. Either apply mink oil (made for shoes) to the lower strap or apply a strip of mole skin to the lower strap. With any luck Fitflop designers will take note and improve this flaw next year. I’m sure the sandal would look nice in a solid leather or suede, but who wants “nice” when you can have “spectacular”! Shiny patent so bright, you need to wear shades!

This is one glam-inspired shoe. A stylized take on the classic peep toe, “Novato” from Sam Edelman. It isn’t a peep toe per se. It has a tiny tear drop shaped cutout detailing the rounded toe grayish purple toned sling back pump. The color is called rainy grey, but there is nothing dreary about this rich hue. Stiletto heel is 5″ with 1.25″ platform, so it’s comparable to a 3.75″ heel. It’s easy to walk in and makes your legs look great. Classic and chic, a true head turner.

This is a interesting mixed media shoe by Rachel Comey from Anthropologie. Pebbled cream toned leather upper brushed with gold, quilted gold mid section, pebbled leather laces and cream tassels. It’s sort of a wedge with the covered cone heel and sort of an oxford. Hmm …. a wedge-ford! This shoe stands alone in style. Heel tab back placed above the uniquely shaped 4″ heel with 0.5″ platform. From day to night, you’ll shine like a star in this shoe!

Two-toned leather, open toe, sling back sandal by Esska. Exciting color block combination of crinkled gold and mushroom-taupe make up the neutral base of the shoe. Bright and bold orange toe lining and lace up ties add extra interest. Stacked 3.5″ wooden heel adds an organic silhouette and simplicity to the design. Stylish and fun, this distinctively unique shoe is about comfort and beauty. Be daring, add some color and variety to your shoe wardrobe.

A caged bootie that won’t confine your style but rather define it. The “Poslyna” from Manolo Blahnik is about as fierce as it gets with a distinctively sexy and sophisticated, sleek city look. The peep toe bootie has a  4″ stiletto heel with back zip. Manolo’s iconic stiletto, which is the brand’s mainstay, has become a symbol of pure classical style. The bootie looks as if it would be uncomfortable, restricting and torture to walk in. Instead the leather cage construction is light, lithe and extremely comfortable. A well designed shoe indeed! This is my first pair of Manolo’s and now I know what the rage is all about. The shoe molds to your foot. Unique, classy, edgy and best of all, Saks had them on sale! A steal of a deal. After all, it would have been a crime to pay full price. Empower your look this year. Be iconic.

Motorcycle boots are all the rage this season. So put your wardrobe into overdrive and check out the Frye “Veronica” back zip short boot. Frye is known for their boot heritage and quality. You will own these forever and be the envy on the streets. Rugged and oh so cool, they have all the details for a modern moto boot. There’s even an easy access back zip with two buckled straps and a thick buckle strap at the vamp. The back buckle has a hidden snap at one side, just unsnap to access the zipper. Best thing about these boots….they were on sale during Nordstrom’s anniversary sale. Worth every penny full price, but who doesn’t love to save a c-note! Enjoy life in the fast lane in these boots whether you have a bike or not. Get your moto on!

Taking to the Bronx. The shoe brand, not the borough. “Fringe Away”,  a rough, tough, outspoken, fun, rock and roll inspired sandal has unexpected coverage and style – just like the borough. Smooth, soft black leather has thick wrap around ankle straps to create a chunky knot or artsy inspired bow. There’s gathered leather by the open toe and the 4″ spiked stiletto heel is easy to maneuver with 1″ platform. A shoe should match your mood. You have the same feet, why not try some different shoes!
